The event will take place at the Col. A.J. "Bo" Baker National Guard Readiness Center located at 3105 South Main Street in Searcy, Ark. 
The 2nd battalion's history includes recent service in Bosnia, Kuwait, Sinai Peninsula, and two deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  The 2nd battalion maintains command and control over its subordinate units in Wynne, Walnut Ridge, Rector, Batesville, Augusta, Forrest City, Brinkley, and Newport with an attached Forward Support Company in Cabot.

LONOKE, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Lonoke County Sheriff's department says a 51-year-old man was found dead around 5:30 Friday evening.

The victim, 51-year-old Raymond Miller III, was reportedly shot in the head. He was taken from Dismukes Street, the scene of the shooting, to a hospital
...more where he was later pronounced dead.

The motive is still under investigation, but authorities name Jerry Chivers, 71, as a suspect in this crime.  No criminal charges have been filed at this point.

Cabot seniors recognize those who impacted their lives

High school seniors dressed in cap and gown
...more are usually the ones to receive diplomas, but on Thursday it was Cabot High graduates who were handing out diplomas to some very special people. 

One-hundred and fifty seniors presented "life impact" diplomas and heartfelt notes to teachers, administrators, coaches, police officers and lunch ladies who had made an impact on their lives.

WARD, Ark. (KTHV) -- Authorities are looking for a man they say robbed the Centennial Bank in Ward around 1 pm Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, the man walked into the bank carrying a silver handgun and robbed the teller of an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is
...more described as a white male, approximately 6' tall and weighing 250 lbs. He was reportedly wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt, dark sweatpants and black ski mask.

The suspect was driving a black Chrysler 300 with no license plate, according to police.

LONOKE, Ark. – Central Arkansas Development Council has re-scheduled its USDA Commodities distribution for May 16 in Lonoke County. The distribution, was originally scheduled Wednesday, May 9, will begin at 9 a.m.
Commodities will be distributed at the following locations: Allport City
...more Hall, Austin City Hall, Cabot Church of Christ located at 500 North 2nd Street, Carlisle Old City Gym, Humnoke City Hall, Lonoke County Fairgrounds, Ward Chamber of Commerce, Woodlawn Community Center, and the England Community Center. ID must be present in order to receive commodities.
The food items to be distributed may include canned spinach, canned peas, canned tomato soup, grapefruit juice, canned peaches, dried pitted plums and canned beef stew.

LONOKE, Ark. (KTHV) - It is a story few could believe and one that still draws national attention, the 1997 murders a father, mother and daughter at the hands of their son and brother.

January 17, 1997, the bodies of Joe, Barbara and Heather Stocks were found shot to death in the
...more kitchen of their own home. Heath Stocks, the son of Joe and Barbara and brother of Heather was arrested the next day.

The 20 year old confessed to the crime but later admitted to being a victim of sexual abuse at the hands of his scout master Jack Walls who he also says told him to commit the murders. Now, Stocks is looking for a new trial and a chance at freedom.

There are so many players in this case, but as Today's THV began digging into the story, we found it nearly impossible to find anyone that would talk about it. We called Stocks' former prosecutor, the former lead investigator, even one of his public defenders and no one would return any of our calls. As of now, it

LONOKE, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Lonoke County Sheriff's Department is searching for Ricky Lee Stivers, 33.

The department says Stivers has two outstanding arrest warrants from the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office and the Ward Police Department. He is also wanted as a possible suspect
...more regarding theft of property.

Stivers is described as 5'8" tall, 130 lbs. with hazel eyes and brown hair. His last known address was on Elm Street in Lonoke.

LONOKE, Ark. (KTHV) - A Lonoke County deputy is back on active duty after Arkansas State Police say he shot and killed a man.

ASP say Cpl. Jack Fitzhugh shot and killed Dustin Williamson, 32, of Lonoke. Williamson was standing along Hwy. 294 between Jacksonville and Furlow swinging a
...more large piece of metal.

Authorities say when Fitzhugh arrived, Williamson began hitting the side of his patrol car with the metal. That's when they say Fitzhugh opened fire and killed Williamson.

Bill Sadler with ASP says he can't release any information, but they are still investigating and the local prosecutor tells Today's THV he has not gotten a report yet.

LONOKE, Ark. (KTHV) - Deputies are investigating a burglary at a home on Woodlawn Road in Lonoke.

According to deputies, the suspect(s) kicked in the back door of the home, which is under construction. Once inside, holes were kicked in the ceilings, and copper wire was stolen from

Deputies say the burglary is believed to have happened between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday. A surveillance camera caught the suspect in photos.

CABOT, Ark. (KTHV) - Cabot police is investigating the possible sexual abuse of a child in the parking lot of a local business.

On Monday afternoon around 3 p.m., police got a call about possible sexual abuse of a minor in the Goodwill parking lot on South Rockwood.

When
...more officers got there the vehicle had already left, but witnesses did give information about the vehicle.

Police sent the information to the Department of Human Services' Child Abuse Hotline.

The child in question has been found and is safe. The investigation is ongoing.
