LITTLE ROCk, Ark. (KTHV) - Deputies with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office are trying to locate a suspect with 14 felony warrants under her belt.

Tamara Dorrell is wanted for forgery and one misdemeanor for theft of property.

Deputies say Dorrell's husband alleges she
...more wrote numerous checks on his separate bank account. Her husband reports to the sheriff's office that she obtained the checks by stealing mail from his mailbox.

Dorrell's husband tells deputies that they're in the process of getting divorced.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- According to officials with the City of Little Rock, a section of University Ave. at Asher Ave. will be closed this weekend and next.

Crews will be doing asphalt repairs due to water damage. The closures will be divided into two phases.

...more phase will close the left thru and left turn lanes of south bound University Ave. Saturday, Feb. 25 through Monday, Feb. 27.

The second phase will close two right thru lanes of south bound University Ave. Saturday, March 3 through Monday, March 5.

They say to expect delays while crews are working.

Due to the unexpectedly large response, The Salvation Army's disaster training event has been relocated to the Little Rock First Church of the Nazarene at 1200 N. Mississippi Street.
 
"We had expected about 15 individuals to register for the courses," said Major Jim Taylor, Salvation
...more Army area commander for central Arkansas. "At last count, more than 60 people have registered to be trained as disaster volunteers in central Arkansas."
The Salvation Army Central Arkansas Area Command will be holding a FREE disaster training event on Friday and Saturday, February 24 & 25, 2012.

CAAC will provide drinks (hot and cold), snacks, continental breakfast (muffins, juice, doughnuts) and lunch on Saturday.

The two fairs will be day-long competitions from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Friday, March 2, in the Donaghey Student Center. The Olympiad will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 2 and 3, in the UALR Science Lab Building Room 280. It is open to all chemistry students nominated by their teacher.

The program will include a brief history of the tradition of church hats, a dramatic skit performed by Yvonne Cook, narratives from local hat wearers explaining how they came into the hat wearing custom and an oath from young African American women who will pledge to carry on this fading practice. Musical entertainment will include The Golatt Links of Harmony and saxophonist Michael Eubanks. Attendees are encouraged to wear their church hats to the program.

Jesse and Casey Clark are newlyweds.

"We went on a blind date. One of the few blind dates that actually work," they say. Married in October, they just moved into their new home in Bryant.

Casey is a dental hygienist and Jesse is a realtor and Little Rock firefighter.

"We'd always grill chicken or goat. I mean, that was basically what you had over there," says Jesse. Over there in Iraq where he was deployed with the 3rd battalion, 23rd marines in 2006.

After a rough start, there's a promising future for retail businesses in Little Rock.
...more Shopping centers like Midtowne, the Promenade at Chenal and many more are seeing a growth in business. A scene once similar to the ghost towns in the old wild-west is now buzzing with potential.

We all deserve a little retail therapy from time to time. And Little Rock is quickly becoming a shopping retreat for locals and visitors alike.

"They're just enthusiastic about having the center here. They say it's the best thing that's ever happened to the neighborhood," says Lou Schickel, owner and developer for the Pleasant Ridge Town Center.

Schickel says things may have started slowly, but it's constantly growing.

"We started out with zero, so it took awhile.
