WHITE COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - Hazmat crews in White County have cleaned up a spill from a overturned tanker.  

Deputies say that just after 9:30 Tuesday night a tanker truck carrying 3,000 gallons of hydrochloric acid turned over at the intersection of Shilo and Peanut Ridge
...more roads.

Officials tell Today's THV that the spill has been cleaned up, and the intersection has been reopened. 

Corporal Steve Hernandez with the White County Sherrif's Department told Today's THV that only 100 gallons spilled.

A nearby home was evacuated as a precautionary measure. The driver of the tanker was not injured. The accident is still under investigation.

According to the EPA, "hydrochloric acid is used in the production of chlorides, fertilizers, and dyes, in electroplating, and in the photographic, textile, and rubber industries."

The Environmental Protection Agency says "Hydrochloric acid is corrosive to the eyes, skin, and mucous membranes.

The Lyon College bagpipers are already off to a strong season. The pipers have been to two contests in Florida.

The popular and entertaining Branson show, "Liverpool Legends" will perform at Jones Performing Arts Center on Thursday evening, March 15 at 7:00. This "Beatles" experience group was hand-picked by Louise Harrison, sister of former Beatle George Harrison.

...more will perform along with the Ouachita Baptist University Band for a 2-hour show. The road tour called, "Help Keep Music Alive" is the result of an effort by Louise to promote the importance of music and those who are in the business of educating students of music. 20% of all ticket sales will go toward helping fund music education.
The show is not only packed full of Beatles music but contains many original photos and video clips of the Beatles from their early years until the end of the group. BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) -- Benton police are reporting Katelyn North, who disappeared around 3:30 pm Monday, has returned "safe and unharmed."

The 17-year-old's disappearance was reported shortly after the body of Angela Allen, another teenager who'd run away from home, was found by investigators.

DARDANELLE, Ark. (KTHV) - The Dardanelle School District superintendent says a student is under arrest for allegedly making serious threats about damaging the school and students.

Dardanelle police chief says the teen is Julian Calfy. He is being charged as an adult, but it is also
...more unknown when the arrest happened.

According to Superintendent John Thompson, police were somehow following the student electronically and found out some "very scary things."

Thompson says police notified the school and the student as expelled Dec. 19, 2011. Thompson says the police "did a great job of possibly avoiding a catastrophe."

Principal Lawrence says police did find evidence to corroborate the charges and they believe the student was actually planning to carry out his plan. The charges have not been released, either.

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) -- Jacksonville police say a man is charged with domestic battery after allegedly stabbing his wife several times.

According to the report, officers discovered Ronique Wright with numerous stab wounds in her apartment on Shannon Drive.

...more Wright was not home when police arrived. He was later taken into custody by North Little Rock Police in the 4500 block of Hwy. 161 in North Little Rock.

Cleveland Wright was charged with first degree domestic battery, which is a class "A" felony.

Ronique Wright was taken to a local hospital and has undergone surgery. She is being treated for her injures.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- According to officials with the City of Little Rock, a section of University Ave. at Asher Ave. will be closed this weekend and next.

Crews will be doing asphalt repairs due to water damage. The closures will be divided into two phases.

The first
...more phase will close the left thru and left turn lanes of south bound University Ave. Saturday, Feb. 25 through Monday, Feb. 27.

The second phase will close two right thru lanes of south bound University Ave. Saturday, March 3 through Monday, March 5.

They say to expect delays while crews are working.

Due to the unexpectedly large response, The Salvation Army's disaster training event has been relocated to the Little Rock First Church of the Nazarene at 1200 N. Mississippi Street.

The Salvation Army Central Arkansas Area Command will be holding a FREE disaster training event on Friday and Saturday, February 24 & 25, 2012.

CAAC will provide drinks (hot and cold), snacks, continental breakfast (muffins, juice, doughnuts) and lunch on Saturday.

LONOKE COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - According to officials in Lonoke County, David Derreberry pled guilty to several charges in connection to the death of Joe Pipkin.

In April of last year, investigators found 61-year-old Billy Joe Pipkin dead inside of his pawn shop.

Officials say
...more Derreberry pled guilty to capital murder, aggravated robbery, arson and 26 counts of theft of property for stealing firearms.

Derreberry is sentenced to life without parole.

Officials tell Today's THV that he's been assessed the following fees as well:

• $150 court cost,

• $20 booking fee,

• $250 DNA fee,

• $150 public defender fee,

• $45 jail support fee.

His wife Jacklyn Derreberry pleaded guilty to charges related to the murder in September 2011. She was sentenced to 14 years in prison.

The Lonoke County prosecuting Attorney tells Today's THV the case is officially closed.

SEARCY, Ark. (AP) - A 22-year-old Searcy man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 24-year-old man who was killed while working as a janitor. 

The Daily Citizen reports that Sherod Shockley entered the plea
...more Tuesday in White County Circuit Court. He's the second man to enter a plea deal in connection with the death of Zachary Mitchell. Two other men are charged in the shooting and await trial.

Mitchell was found dead Oct. 23 at Nephrology Associates. He had been shot in the chest.
