This film is being show in conjunction with Laman Library’s current exhibit, Linedrives and Lipstick: The Untold Story of Women’s Baseball, on display through March 18. A League of Their Own tells a fictionalized account of the real-life All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL).
Joining the panel is:Sue Kidd, who makes an appearance in the film, was a pitcher and first baseman in the AAGPBL in the late '40s and early '50s. Kidd joined the Springfield Sallies in 1949 at age 15. In 1950, she played for the Peoria Redwings and the South Bend Blue Sox, where she ended her career in 1954. Kidd is from Choctaw, AR.Mary Lou “Studnicka” Caden, a pitcher and second baseman
